Festive Cocktails
Winter Sangria: Serves 4-5
Since this sangria needs to be made ahead of time it is ideal for holiday parties or
dinners. One pitcher typically serves 4-5 so just make several batches at once and you can replenish the pitcher as the night goes on.
2 750 ml bottles Chardonnay (I like @Woodbridgewines which has a traditional oaky Chardonnay as well as a more modern Lightly Oaked option- bonus they make a 1.5L which is the equivalent of 2 bottles!)
3/4 cup sparkling apple cider
1/4 cup sugar (I like to use superfine so it dissolves better)
1/4 cup fresh cranberries, halved
3/4 cup fresh cranberries, whole
1 green apple, cored and chopped
3 rosemary sprigs
Combine all ingredients in a large pitcher and stir together until the sugar dissolves. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours before serving. Serve chilled or over ice. Delicious!
Cranberry Sparkler: Serves 1
This is a great alternative or companion to straight champagne or sparkling wine for ringing in the new year.
Prosecco
2 oz Unsweetened Cranberry Juice
1 oz Simple Syrup (or to taste)
Rosemary sprig
1-2 Fresh Cranberries
Add Cranberry Juice, Simple Syrup to glass of your choice (we suggest coup or traditional flute) then top with Prosecco. Pour prosecco slowly to avoid overflow and let the head fizz out a bit and continue to top up to get a balanced mix in the glass. Garnish with a sprig of Rosemary and fresh cranberries. Cheers!
The Jolly: Serves 10-15
This is a day drinking legend and ideal for large gatherings of family or friends because one batch will serve about 10-15 guests.
1 liter bourbon (we used @wildturkey)
1.5 liters Lemonade
1.5 liters Apple Cider
1 orange sliced with peel on
1 green apple cored and sliced with peel on
1 lemon sliced with peel on
Fresh cranberries (a handful)
1 6 pack Berliner Weiss (we use Athena from @creaturecomfortsbeer)
Several sprigs of Rosemary to garnish
1.5 liters Lemonade
1.5 liters Apple Cider
1 orange sliced with peel on
1 green apple cored and sliced with peel on
1 lemon sliced with peel on
Fresh cranberries (a handful)
1 6 pack Berliner Weiss (we use Athena from @creaturecomfortsbeer)
Several sprigs of Rosemary to garnish
In a large punch bowl or drink dispenser combine all liquid except beer. Then float the fruit on top. Pour over ice so glass is 3/4 full. Top up with beer and garnish with orange slice and rosemary sprig. Enjoy!
